damaged dress to top and lady tie

When that beautiful vintage dress has large rips in it, no prob!

This vintage silk dress had some tears here and there, and some grease stains, but had soooo much potential. I mean you can’t really go wrong with bright green and bright yellow silk!

First things first, I chopped off the green trim at the bottom with the rip so I could salvage the good fabric and recycle it into one of my Lady Ties! Next I added tiny decorative pleats across center front to disguise the stained areas and hemmed the sleeves a bit and reset the shoulders to get rid of the remaining holes. For the finishing touch, I hemmed the bottom cropped in front and longer in back with little slits, and there you go!
