Georgia had this jacket in her closet for many years. She originally purchased it from a weaver who not only made the jacket but also the fabric. Her weaving was absolutely amazing, but her garment construction and tailoring was not quite on the same level.
As you can tell, this jacket was much too big for Georgia. I mentioned that we could turn it into a vest, and she preferred to keep it as a jacket of some sort. Look at all that fabric!
We decided to fit the sides (quite a bit), reset the shoulders to fit her frame, hem the sleeves to 3/4 length, and hem the bottom shorter in front and a little longer in back. Now she can wear this with a t-shirt and jeans, with a high-waisted skirt and blouse, or over a dress.
